Day 05

Favorite Quote:

You know, there are a lot of quotes I like. But honestly this one sticks out the most:

“God grant me the power to change what can be changed; the serenity to accept what cannot be changed; and the wisdom to know the difference”

(give or take a few words)

I think I first heard this on the American version of Queer As Folk. It’s a great show. But it was referring to the fact that you cannot change your sexuality or even who you are. And that you know what can be changed and what cannot and you know the difference. Anyways, it was a nice passage from the bible eh? What’s it called? The Serenity Prayer? Yeah. I think that’s it. But oh the irony.

Day 03

Favorite Television Program:

As of now, it has to be Eureka. It’s an amazing show on the Syfy channel (previously Scifi) which talks about a city with the smartest people in the world. They have 11 year olds in college and scientists that can create worm holes & time machines. The main character is pretty hot too ;)

It’s such a cool, futuristic show. The plot is very interesting. It’s funny. I just like it.

I downloaded all the episodes a couple days ago and am close to finishing season 1.

Day 02

My favorite movie.

This is a tough one. I’ve seen many good movies. I can’t really narrow it down so I’ll just name a few: Latter Days, P.S. I Love You, Wall-E, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and The Proposal. I can’t think of any others at the moment so that’s all for now.

I think I might’ve missed a day of blogging even if it says I posted Day 01 one day ago. I was at a school graduation event and that’s why.

I’ll do it!” And so here I am, attempting to complete this challenge, which is quite ambitious for me considering I’ve had difficulties with 30-day challenges. I’ve done a couple on youtube, making a video each day for a month, which as you might have guessed didn’t work out so well. So without further adieu, I begin.

Day 01 - Your favorite song

My favorite song changes from time to time. But as of right now, my favorite song is Hello (Glee Cast Version) from Glee. It’s originally sung by Lionel Richie but I love the Glee cast voices. It’s such a nice song to sing… and I like to sing. It’s perfectly within my range. It’s just a nice song.

Letter To Myself, Kind Of

So at the beginning of my senior year, my English teacher had an assignment to tell him who we were. Since we only have 3 days left, he gave us back our letters and this is what mine said:

The good part is the last paragraph after the ellipse. :)

“So I came into high school thinking that the seniors would throw the weak little freshman into trash cans just because they were freshmen. But boy was I wrong. Everything has changed in the past 3 years and I’m totally looking forward to my senior year.

To most people, I would probably seem like the little quiet Asian boy. I wouldn’t talk to my classmates whom I am not acquainted with and I prefer it that way sometimes. But as like everyone else, I came out of my awkward turtle shell when I am with my closest friends. And I’m comfortable with that. I know I should be more extroverted but going to school everyday for the past 12 years, it seems to me like a mere routine. I’ve always been quiet in the classroom and every now & then, I will have some friends in a class that can bring me out. Unfortunately, there really aren’t any in this class. I don’t really take the time to meet someone new. I don’t want to make the impression that I’m the strange Asian boy next door. That is just not who I am. The real me? Sometimes easy, sometimes difficult. My best friend, I am talk to him about ANYTHING! I am a big person when it comes to talking. I love to talk. Whatever comes to my hand, I say it. I love it when you’re so close to someone that no matter what we say, we won’t offend each other and we know when its a joke & when its not.
…..
I wrote the above in class on Friday and had planned on finishing the rest at home but then I decided to show you who I really am. I procrastinate and I’m lazy.”

HAHA that actually made me laugh out loud. I found that hilarious! If you read it, thanks.

And fyi, I’ve changed and I don’t care at all that I’m the little weak Asian in the class because one, I’m not little but average. And two, I’m not weak.

Thanks for reading, I thought I’d just share this cos I found it funny :)

The Beginning

I haven’t made a post in a while and thought it’d be a perfect time considering I just turned 18.

We have only 8 more days of school left. I graduate on the 22nd. With such little time, it’s sad to think that in 8 days, I won’t talk to many of the people I talk to now. I’ll talk to my close friends but what about the girl you say good morning to every day as you pass by her? Or what about the guy you have a small crush on that passes by you as you go unnoticed? What am I going to do with the summer?

Most of my close friends are only going to a local school but still, the thought of not seeing them every day on a scheduled hour makes me a bit sad.

I hate high school. Most of the teachers are unreasonable and the homework and the tests are annoying. The only reason I went to school each day was just to see and talk to my friends that I would inevitably let go of.

Graduation will be so bittersweet.

Today is the day I become an adult. Today is the day I become legal, as some would say. Today is the beginning of the end.
